Day 4
Today is the day to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. We are excited to see such an auspicious event. We fell asleep pretty early so we were also up early. We picked up a few little grocery items since John was not thrilled with the breakfast options yesterday. He was happy to have some instant oats, fruit, and juice in our room. Coffee does it for me.
So we are off to the bus stop and made it to the appointed spot to disembark in plenty of time. We were at least an hour early. To our shock and surprise there are thousands of other people as well! There was absolutely no way we would even get a peek of the Changing of the Guards. We did stand by a roadway and saw the pageantry of the musicians march in, well we saw their backs anyway. I have no idea how early one must arrive to be by the front fence and gate to actually see the event. It would require standing for some hours I suppose and I am not up to that. I guess I will look on YouTube!

Big Ben is hiding from us too!

Award Winning!
Time to find our bus again. We took the Orange line today. Midway through we had to get off the bus and get in the bus in front of us. There was no explanation why but we tried. That bus was full! So then we waited for the next bus, which was our original bus... Oh well. I was hoping most areas would be less crowded today since it is no longer the weekend but I guess London is always crowded. We finished that route and got back on our bus for the stop at Tower Bridge, which is by our hotel.

We had a good day but we are tired. I'm sure we will sleep well tonight! Oh my, it got to 81F today. No wonder we lost some energy! I liked the 66F when we left the hotel this morning! Along the way we popped into a bank and my ATM card seems to be working fine now!
