Day 14

Today I am feeling just a little under the weather. I think it is just too much rich food lately. While everything is delicious, we don't typically eat that way. We decided to just stay moored where we are and relax. I fixed lunch on board, grilled cheese sandwiches and salad. It was good because we had some delicious cheese, very sharp, aged cheddar.

We read and relaxed. We also have entertainment when someone passes us along the canal. John took a little look around and convinced me to take a walk over to  The Barley Mow Pub in the evening. That was fine because I do like to use the internet. Everywhere we go people are just so friendly. We have the obvious accent and they want to know where we are from in the states. We are running a little low on milk, we probably have enough for one more day, but there are no markets in walking distance. At the Pub we were able to fill one of our water bottles with milk and that worked great for us. John had a 1/2 pint of ale and I had a Silent Pond Gin and Elderberry Tonic. We had bait whitefish again and order Jacket Potato with Italian topping. A Jacket Potato is a "baked potato" and it was tasty.

We took a short round about walk on the way back to the boat and topped our evening off watching some dogs jump in the canal and swim back out with the toy the owner tossed. I don't think the Golden Lab EVER got tired of doing this but the smaller dog had fewer options. I think it might be harder for the little one to get out. It was fun to watch.
